About Dr. Emily Gosterisli

My therapy style is relational and warm and I find great joy serving as a partner and guide for those seeking to ease suffering and cultivate well-being in their lives. My work is grounded in humanistic psychology, a view of wellbeing that sees each person’s unique ability to thrive with the support of compassionate relationships. I am welcoming and affirming of diversity, and I prioritize creating a safe space for you. My work is also theoretically informed by relational theory, multicultural theory, mindfulness and self-compassion theory, feminist theory, developmental theory, and cognitive behavioral theory.

In addition to being a psychotherapist, I am a daughter, wife, and mother of three young children and a sweet dog. I love traveling internationally and being outside, especially hiking and camping in the woods and swimming at the beach. I am originally from Atlanta and my family is bicultural/bilingual Turkish American (my Turkish is basic and I’m still learning). I have practiced yoga for over 25 years and have cultivated a mindful self compassion meditation practice for the last 5 years that has been a true treasure in my life.
