About Dr. Emily Gosterisli

My therapy style is relational and warm and I find great joy serving as a partner and guide for those seeking to ease suffering and cultivate well-being in their lives. My work is grounded in humanistic psychology, a view of wellbeing that sees each person’s unique ability to thrive with the support of compassionate relationships. I am welcoming and affirming of diversity, and I prioritize creating a safe space for you. In our work I will draw on multiple valuable and evidence-based theories including: mindfulness and self-compassion, developmental, attachment, relational, multicultural, feminist, and cognitive behavioral.

In addition to being a psychotherapist, I am a mother of three young children and my family is bicultural Turkish American. I have practiced yoga for 30 years and have cultivated a mindful self compassion meditation practice for the last 10 years that has been a true treasure in my life. I love nature and being outside. Whenever I can I head to the woods or the water to move my body, soak up some sun, connect with my inner wildness, and play with my family. You might also spot me around town on my much loved e-bike.
